A postdoctoral/research assistant position for up to 6 years is available in the group of Frank Stienkemeier at the Institute of Physics, University of Freiburg, Germany.

The experimental research of our group involves laser spectroscopy, femtosecond time-resolved methods, Free-Electron Laser radiation as well as molecular, cluster and helium droplet beams. Qualified, highly self-motivated candidates should hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or related fields and have a strong background in femtosecond laser pulses, molecular and cluster beams and related detection of photons, electrons and ions. The successful candidate will be involved in supervising PhD and undergraduate students, will take high responsibility for existing research projects, and will be strongly involved in developing new research directions. The position is ideal for candidates who are pursuing an academic career (with possibility for Habilitation) by developing also their own research interests.
