VISIT TO KEW ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS LIBRARY ART & ARCHIVES

FRIDAY 24TH JUNE 2016, 14:00 – 17:00

 Join us on a visit to Kew Gardens Library, Art & Archives and find out what makes these Royal Botanic Gardens whose history dates back to 1852, one of the most important botanical reference sources in the world.

The Library & Archives contain several million items, including books, botanical illustrations, photographs, letters and manuscripts, periodicals, biographies and maps. Come along to discover more.

There is a charge of £6.47 for this event (£5 fee for visit plus Eventbrite fees and VAT). 
Visit includes complementary entrance to Kew Gardens, open until 9pm on the day.

Location: The Main Library is located in the Herbarium building off Kew Green to the right of Elizabeth Gate. This is the closest gate to Kew Bridge mainline rail station (South West Trains station is 800 metres away) and nearest to the Orangery Restaurant and Kew Palace (both about 200 metres from the gate)

VISIT TO THE WIENER LIBRARY FOR THE STUDY OF THE HOLOCAUST AND GENOCIDE
Thursday, 28 July 2016, 14:00 - 15:00

 Formed in 1933, The Wiener Library houses a unique collection of over one million items includes published and unpublished works, press cuttings, photographs and eyewitness testimony on the Holocaust and Nazi era.

 This promises to be fascinating tour of one of the world's leading, most extensive and historically significant archives on the subject of the Holocaust and Genocide

VISIT TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE ARCHIVE


Friday, 9 September 2016 from 14:00 to 17:00

 

The National Theatre Archive is a treasure trove of material, encompassing all of the creative, technical and administrative records of the National Theatre.

When the curtain falls on the final night of a show, the NT Archive ensures the performance can live on. 

Materials range from programmes prompt scripts and correspondence, to schedules, photographs and recordings.

The Archive holds external collections, which provide an insight into the National Theatre from a different perspective, such as theatre design or vocal coaching and also many deposited collections relevant to the National's history including the records of the Shakespeare Memorial National Theatre Trust (1908) and the South Bank Theatre Board.
