Health Education England Librarian Band 6

We are looking for a librarian to work with us to develop the library
service for Health Education England, and Health Education London and
South East Geography, in this newly created role. Initially this post is
for one year, but would be extended if the service level agreements with
each organisation were renewed. Applications from people interested in
secondment opportunities would be welcome.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and
will need to be experienced in identifying, synthesising and summarising
evidence in response to client requests. They will be able to manage
their own diary; be proactive and have a flexible approach to their
work.

The successful candidate will be the primary professional contact for
Health Education England, and the Health Education London and South East
Geography, and will lead on ensuring services are delivered proactively
and in line with the service agreements with each of the organisations.
The main elements of the service will be the provision of complex and
synthesised reviews of evidence, enquiry service, evidence alerts,
horizon scans, skills development and document supply.

Based at Crawley Hospital, the post holder will hot desk at Stewart
House in London at least one day a week, with some travel to Leeds.
Where possible the post holder will work as part of the HEE and the
London and South East Geography, attending certain identified meetings
on a regular basis, and other meetings and events as and when relevant.

This is a new post and it will be the responsibility of the post holder
to market the services and to engage with teams and individuals within
each of the organisations. Initially the Service Level Agreements have
been signed with the individual organisations for one year; depending on
take up and impact of the service these contracts will be renewed, it is
therefore important that the Health Education Librarian successfully
provides a high level of service to each of the organisations involved.

We are a small team made up of six librarians (including this post), two
senior library assistants and three part-time library assistants. If you
would like the opportunity to shape a new role with a national body,
come and join us at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare.
