IN the Faculty of Business and Law, I set out with Learning Development. But that had already been ‘bagged’ by the HR trainers, so we went to Academic
Support Centre. The Academic Support Centre seemed to be an unappealing brand to students, so we change to Academic Success Centre, and that has been far more appealing.

12 years ago or so we created a ‘Learning Development Unit’; it’s since changed name, and function, but it was a good
brand, and was widely recognised

Here at CfAP (the Centre for Achievement and Performance) we are planning on changing our name to Learning Development. We plan to do this over the 2016-17 academic
year. I was wondering if anyone has re-named their unit/team and whether they could offer any tips or hints or anything we should avoid!
