I’d say definitely not – otherwise you could retrospectively link newly discovered Monuments to DBAs from ages ago which made no mention of them. I don’t often link DBAs to Monuments
anyway unless a good deal of extra investigation has unearthed new information about that site (but I do create basic Event records for them as it’s useful to know what previous work has happened in an area).

Subject: Event and monument relationships
Hi all,
Just after some clarification on Event to Monument relationships.
If a DBA was undertaken that said there was no archaeology on a site, but a subsequent evaluation showed up archaeology does one link the DBA to the monument records? I presume not as the DBA has no connection to the monuments other than
geography, but happy to be corrected or pushed in another direction. I am talking about events here rather than sources.
What do others do?
