It didn't take too long and the results were pretty good, they are only just beginning to look tired and have been in continuous use for four years (the bee and caterpillar have both disappeared possibly into visitors pockets!). For the shapes we made simple templates and cut the felt ourselves, we used a double layer with a layer of wadding sandwiched inside, we then sewed Velcro to the backs (sticking it doesn't work) which was the hardest bit. The board part is now different from the picture as this was a stop gap - we now have an artist's canvas with a large sheet of felt stretched across and stapled on the back.
