p.s. The obvious inconsistency between my response to 3) and 6) is left suspended. 
   Acceptance of which (kinds of) invitations would be blameworthy or problematic?
As an example of this, Kent in his Barr and Blackface despatch raises this question about the Poetry Foundation.

                      3) these inequalities undeniably exist. Some poets are more sought after/popular/requested. I can hardly blame them for accepting invitations to read their work.
