Hi Candace,

Although I'm afraid I can't answer your specific question here, I thought if you're working with SCORM you may be interested in this page on the Blackboard Community site:

https://community.blackboard.com/ideas/1127

It appears that the SCORM player in Blackboard is out of date and is causing various issues - there's a good discussion about it on this page. We used SCORM for a number of years for staff training courses and encountered a variety of issues with the recording of SCORM training packages not being set to 'complete' so I don't think your situation is unusual. It would be very interesting to know if the updated SCORM player described in the page will solve these problems...

Best
Chris

Subject: Xerte, SCORM and the Grade Centre

Hello all

We're getting ready to upgrade to version 3 of Xerte and I have been testing the SCORM (2004, 3rd ed.) integration with the Grade Centre (Bb 9.1). I have not been able to identify a combination of settings in Xerte and in Blackboard that reliably pass a score to the Grade Centre.

Sometimes I just get an error message when the SCORM item is closed, but most of the time the Grade Centre shows an attempt as 'in progress' (regardless of completion/satisfaction settings). If individual students' attempts are examined, all of the data seems to be successfully passed--but not translated to a 'complete'. (No one on the Xerte forum seems to have encountered this issue.)

Has anyone had this problem, and/or found a combination of settings that work consistently?

Many thanks

Candace
