Job Title: Assistant Librarian

Salary: £25,155 - £30,387 per annum

Ref: LIB050

Come and join UWL Library Services at an exciting time in our history as we seek to capitalise on the opening of our Paul Hamlyn Library in 2015 and associated investment in our collections and student experience.

We have created a new full time Assistant Librarian role in our Academic Support Librarian team which supports the teaching and research activities of eight UWL Schools and Colleges.

The successful candidate will assist in the development of relevant resource collections and reading lists as well as in the preparation and delivery of induction and training programmes. S/he will also assist in the provision of excellent face-to-face and virtual enquiry support for students and staff.

This is intended to be a paraprofessional post, suitable for somebody considering (or currently) studying for a library/information qualification. The preferred candidate will be a pro-active, organised, service-oriented individual with a degree level qualification or equivalent, excellent communication and IT skills and experience of working in a service environment.

Library Services has implemented an annualised hours working framework to ensure maximum flexibility for individual staff and the University. The post will be based at our Ealing campus but may be required to travel to our other campuses as required.

If you have any questions about the opportunity before applying, please contact James Concannon, Interim Head of Academic Support ([log in to unmask]), for an informal discussion.

Closing date for receipt of applications to the above post is Sunday 10 July 2016.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on Friday 22 July 2016.

Please note that starting salary will be dependent on experience.

Please be advised that it is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.
