Hi everyone There have been some queries on the list about how to handle and store plant remains. This, among much else, is covered in a recent book: Pearsall, Deborah M. 2014. "Chapter 5. Curating palaeoethnobotanical specimens and botanical reference collections", pp. 67-83 in Curating biocultural collections: a handbook. Edited by J. Salick, K. Konchar, and M. Nesbitt. Kew: Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. (with thanks to Ruth Pelling and colleagues at Historic England who contributed images and specialist info) The book also covers many other aspects of how to collect, curate and use for research diverse ethnobiological materials, which should be of relevance to many archaeobotanists.
