The Department of Sociological Studies has a major international reputation for excellence in research and teaching across Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work and achieving high levels of cross-fertilisation between the three disciplines. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to the Department’s portfolio by maintaining our high standards of teaching through delivering modules in Digital Sociology/Digital Media and Society, leading the new MA Digital Media and Society and contributing to the development of the new BA Digital Media and Society mentioned above.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding international track record as a scholar, including publications in high ranked international journals. You will hold a PhD in Sociology or related discipline and provide research leadership, attract external funding and research students to the Department. You will be expected to represent the Department in the wider University and promote and represent the University and the discipline nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will be expected to fully contribute to research, teaching and administration within the Department.
