As part of its consultation on cuts to spending on NHS statistics, the HSCIC is holding a more detailed consultation on the Health Survey for England. It has asked the Health Statistics User Group to forward the following message to our networks

"Health Survey for England: Consultation

The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) is currently running a user consultation on proposed changes to a wide range of HSCIC Statistics over the next three years (see <http://www.hscic.gov.uk/article/7041>HSCIC Consultation for more information). The changes will help the HSCIC to better meet user needs and prioritise resources within the limitations of a reduced budget. The changes proposed include some changes to the Health Survey for England (HSE) but as this survey is such an important source of information on the nation's health, the HSCIC has also produced a separate HSE consultation paper which we would encourage users to respond to. The HSE consultation paper contains more detail on the potential changes to the HSE and gives users the opportunity to comment in more detail on these proposals, as well as responding to the wider HSCIC consultation. The consultation paper can be found at:
<http://www.hscic.gov.uk/public-health>http://www.hscic.gov.uk/public-health under 'Consultations' and responses should be received by 27th June 2016"
