Hello All!
I am researching options for platforms to build apps/ enhanced visitor experience in our museum. We would ideally want something that allowed us to build (in-house) enhanced content, delivered most likely via an app, for key exhibitions using an existing platform for the framework. I'll be talking to someone from Cuseum shortly and I had some nice chats with vendors at the Museums and the Web Conference in LA this past April but I'm wondering who else might be out there and what companies/ systems have you tried that you've been happy with. I'm fairly code savvy but I don't have time to build anything from scratch and we really don't need anything terribly out of the ordinary. We have a great team of designers and can gather collateral ourselves including video. I've used Bootstrap for kiosk style inter actives but we'd like to branch out to mobile moving forward rather than relying on multiple static stations in the galleries. The goal is to be able to maintain and change content as we need and not be dependent on outside sources apart from paying to use the platform. Any advice/ tales from the trenches is most appreciated! Thanks in advance.
