The social life of books

Thursday 2nd June, 1-2 pm

University of Reading Special Collections Service, Redlands Road, Reading, RG1 5EX

You are warmly invited to this event on book ownership at the University of Reading. In his talk, Dr. Paddy Bullard will explore how books from the University of Reading collections reveal their past lives as objects of private devotion and possession, as tokens of exchange between families, lovers or friends, and as valued goods within communities or institutions. The talk will be followed by a tour of the current exhibition Ex libris: marks of ownership in rare books, led by one of the curators

This event is free of charge. To book a place, email [log in to unmask].
