The forthcoming **FREE** regional 'Web of Science Update' training scheduled on various dates in May is proving to be popular, anyone wishing to attend is advised to book a place at their earliest convenience (please note that bookings for Oxford Brookes University are now closed to external attendees).  Course details below:

 

Web of Science Service for UK Education Support have organised a series of ***FREE*** 'Web of Science Update' training sessions in various locations throughout the UK, training is provided by Thomson Reuters. Library/research support staff at academic institutions who subscribe to the Web of Science Service for UK Education are invited to attend one of these events to learn more about recent and future developments to the service. Anyone wishing to attend is advised to book at their earliest convenience.

 

During the course Thomson Reuters will present recent enhancements and new features available on the platform. In addition Thomson Reuters will be presenting the new versions of Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators (Journal and Highly Cited Data).

 

The workshop will include:

 

-          Emerging Sources Citation Index.

-          Article Level Usage Metrics.

-          Saved Marked List.

-          ResearcherID and ORCID integration in Web of Science.

-          Integration of journal metrics and highly cited data in Web of Science.

-          InCites Journal Citation Reports including new features and 2014 data.

-          InCites Essential Science Indicators introduction.

 

Please be advised that this course is tailored for subscribers to the Web of Science Service for UK Education and is aimed at library/research support staff at these Institutions.

-          13 May 2016 Friday, Newcastle University, 1.00pm - 4.00pm

-          16 May 2016 Monday, King's College London, 1.00pm - 4.00pm

-          17 May 2016 Tuesday, King's College London, 10.00am - 1.00pm (morning session)

-          19 May 2016 Thursday, Oxford Brookes University, 1.00pm - 4.00pm **Limited availability: OBU staff only**

-          20 May 2016 Friday, Glasgow University, 1.00pm - 4.00pm

 

Course materials and format.

The course will combine a mixture of demonstrations and structured hands-on practical sessions. In addition there will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and provide feedback.
