The advice from Jiscmail is that when subscribing/unsubscribing by email ideally the body of the message should be completely blank.

However, should the signature be added to all email, then you can tell our system to ignore it by placing two dashes under the command. For example:

SUBSCRIBE JISCMAIL-NEWSLETTER

Re. the e-mail option, is it worth querying whether the old ‘rule’ still applies, that the body of the e-mail must be completely blank apart from the unsubscribe command (signatures must be deleted)?

We thought we’d send out a general reminder to the list about how to unsubscribe from lis-link (though we do hope you decide to stay).

To unsubscribe by email:

o Send email to [log in to unmask]

o Keep subject field blank

o In body of email type: UNSUBSCRIBE LIS-LINK

You need to send the command from the same email address that you are subscribed with.

To unsubscribe via the JISCMAIL website: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lis-link

Click on Subscribe or Unsubscribe under Options on left hand side of screen

o Enter your details

o Choose whether you are unsubscribing from lis-link or all lists

o Click on appropriate button at bottom of screen

If you would like to contact the list owners at any time, you can do this via http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lis-link (see ‘email list owner(s)’ on left hand side of page)

or by emailing us direct at [log in to unmask].
