Dear colleagues,
BIBLIOMETRICS IN PRACTICE – A LIS BIBLIOMETRICS EVENT
27th June, Manchester Metropolitan University
We are delighted to invite all our members to join us in Manchester for a one-day networking event focused around the practicalities of the wonderful world of bibliometrics. “Bibliometrics in Practice” presents a wide range of perspectives
on how to use metrics more effectively in your day-to-day working life. As well as all the usual benefits associated with networking at a LIS Bibliometrics event you will also take away practical hints and tips that will help you to improve your skills and
confidence. You’ll hear from experienced speakers including librarians, academics and research officers who will all reflect on what works well and what to avoid when using bibliometrics. Speakers include Professor Alan Dix (Birmingham University / Talis UK),
Nathalie Cornee (London School of Economics), Samuel Cole (Warwick University), Dr. Ian Rowlands (University of Leicester) and Dr. Andrew Walsh (University of Manchester).
“Bibliometrics in Practice” is free to attend due to the generosity of our sponsors Thomson Reuters. You can register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bibliometrics-in-practice-tickets-25268284118
CALL FOR BREAKOUT SESSIONS AND CASE STUDIES
We have room in the programme for breakout sessions and 20 minute case studies. If you want to share something fantastic that you have been doing around the use of metrics then we’d love to hear from you. We’re attaching a very short pro-forma

[log in to unmask] by the 27th May and we’ll be in touch to confirm details. Please note, we may not be able to accommodate everybody who wants to run a session but we’ll do our best!
