Dear colleagues,

The most extraordinary amount of work is underway to implement Knowledge for Healthcare, to the benefit for patient care - so it's well worth keeping up with developments.

You can sign up to http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/welcome-to-the-kfh-blog/ to stay sighted on the various work-streams. From this same page you can scroll down to search on Posts by KfH Working Groups & Task and Finish Groups and also link to updates on the work-streams of Knowledge for Healthcare.

There are several new toolkits - developed by colleagues for colleagues, and to share their knowledge and address shared challenges. These are 'living objects' to which you are invited to contribute.
The Learning Zone at http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/learning-zone/ This signposts resources in three categories: Generic Skills, Specialist and Technical Skills, and Career Pathway and Vocational skills. Sian Aynsley heads up the team committed to maintaining this and they will be pleased to hear from you about other materials to include: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

The High Profile Libraries toolkit at http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/high-profile-health-libraries/ is being developed as an advocacy toolkit to help colleagues promote library and knowledge services. With thanks to colleagues in the Midlands and East for compiling this resource. Please forward any items you can contribute to Sarah Greening [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

What approaches are being used to make a reality of 'Knowledge Management'? See http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/knowledge-management/knowledge-management-story/

How best to deploy the skills and expertise of NHS librarians and knowledge specialists to support the healthcare workforce, and other information professionals, to ensure that patients, carers and the public have the information they need? There is an ideas bank at http://kfh.libraryservices.nhs.uk/patient-and-public-information/

Librarians and knowledge specialists all around the country are pooling their expertise and experience to ensure the right knowledge and evidence are used, at the right time, in the right place. Amidst change, and austerity, they are making this an exciting time, with so much being achieved. People are building new and wider professional networks as they take the work forward, as well as building new resources and creating a platform for service improvement.

Do sign up to the blog. This will ensure you are notified of new posts and have the opportunity to contribute and take advantage of the resources being shared.

Best wishes

Sue
