 It isn't obvious why these files would be being automatically deleted, but as a test, it might be worth locating your fsl directory somewhere other than your Downloads folder ( maybe straight in your home directory ) and see if the files still get deleted after some time.

Hi Matthew, 

I am trying to do that now. But files keep going missing Im not sure why. I checked if the download was good with the MD command and it was. I don't understand what is happening and why is it even happening in the first place.

Do I need to troubleshoot my imac? If so, any material you can recommend me to look up?

If these files are definitely missing, it might be worth re-installing from the FSL website.
