This is great Suzanne –creative and inspiring and challenging .  thanks for forwarding.   I am copying in reply to some with folk here in  Plymouth/ SW , so we can look at it re inspiring teaching for us.

and also perhaps  reference it in a chapter we are currently writing about learning critical psychology ?  Please can you send me off list your email so we can talk about it more?  I am [log in to unmask]

Also please if when you go back will you express my appreciation to folk in Braunstone for  talking with you,  so that you have  been able to spread their word out in ripples. .  I believe that  witnessing   invisible and unheard experiences and stories ( or at least invisible to those with relative power and privilege)   is critically important and can lead onto other positive action….

Warm wishes,

Annie

Subject: [COMMUNITYPSYCHUK] reflecting on teaching about social action

Hi all

A colleague and I have written a blog about our attempts to take social action with Trainee Clinical Psychologists in a couple of teaching days in their ‘Community Psychology’ strand.

https://psychologycultures.wordpress.com/2016/05/09/taking-social-action-with-trainees-walking-and-talking-in-the-name-of-social-justice/?blogsub=confirming#blog_subscription-2

We’d be interested to hear any reflections.

suzanne

Call for papers: "The Current Migration Crisis in Europe" (SPSSI-UK Symposium)

In collaboration with Cardiff University, SPSSI-UK is hosting a symposium titled "The Current Migration Crisis in Europe," on the 30th-31st of August, 2016 (prior to the British Psychological Society Social Psychology Section Annual Conference). This event will gather social scientists and policy specialists who share a common interest in linking theory and practice to address important social and policy issues affecting the UK. We hereby invite submissions of presentations or posters on topics related to the Current Migration Crisis in Europe. Please click here to see the Abstract submission details and obtain further information.
