On behalf of Harold Thwaites <[log in to unmask]> The International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (VSMM) is a premier world forum for the presentation of research on 3D acquisition, multimedia visualization, interaction technologies and their applications. Known for developing a unique and now transdisciplinary approach, VSMM has become a bridge between technology, art, culture, history, media, science and engineering. This year VSMM will be held for the first time in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia at Sunway University. It is organized by the Centre for Research Creation in Digital Media (CRCDM), the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science and Technology and will take place from October 17-21, 2016. The conference is open for multiple levels of participation and will feature international Keynote speakers, a variety of workshops, a cultural heritage exhibition, and special sessions. The theme for the 2016 conference is “Transdisciplinary – Transmedia - Transformations ” with a strong focus on research creation applications for virtual systems, multimedia, digital arts and technology, digital cultural heritage and creative industries, and on the knowledge mobilization and the practical exhibition of such endeavours. The aim of this conference is to showcase and discuss fresh research and public engagement initiatives integral to all fields associated with virtual systems and multimedia, the founding pillars of VSMM, will make this South-East Asian edition particularly exciting. VSMM 2016 provides an excellent opportunity to submit papers to the wide range of subject tracks and special sessions.
