An Assistant Archivist is now being sought to fill a new position at the Eaton Estate, the principal home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster and the Grosvenor family; located to the south of Chester and extending to in excess of 12,000 acres, the Estate encompasses a diverse portfolio of residential, agricultural, commercial and mineral interests centered round Eaton Hall and includes a significant property holding within Chester as well as North Wales.  Part of the Grosvenor Estate, it hosts the Family Investment Office (FIO) which manages not only the Eaton Estate but Estates in North West England, Scotland and Spain, a charitable foundation, a fine art collection and the historic archive.
You will be responsible for assisting the Archivist in their day to day duties: accessioning, cataloguing, responding to public enquiries and supporting the work of the FIO by responding to departmental enquiries.  In addition, you will also assist in the development of an organisation-wide trusted digital archive repository that will complement the existing nationally significant archive that has recorded the development of the family and organisation since the 12th century.  Experience of working with family and landed estate collections and catalogues in all formats would be an advantage.
A degree level qualification in an archives or records management related discipline together with substantial experience in an archives environment is required.
