I am seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to conduct interviews in Bangkok for a research project. This project will evaluate the process of policy transfer in the field of sustainable transport in South East Asia. Bangkok is one of the case studies.

This RA position is suitable for a graduate student or entry-level planning practitioner. Very good working knowledge of English as well as commitment to the project and good communication skills are key qualities for this job.

The RA will conduct 20 interviews and translate those interviews into English. The interviewees will be transportation planners and policy officials from the national and local governments. All the interviews will be in Bangkok. The interviews will last 45-60 minutes each. I will provide the interview questions and the RA can complete the interviews in his/her own time. A snowball sampling method will be applied, in which one or two people are interviewed at first and then those people are asked to recommend other colleagues. This process is repeated until the RA has completed 20 interviews.

The project deliverables are the interview voice recording and the English translation in a Word document. The RA can transcribe the recording directly into English (it does not need to be transcribed in the local language first).

The pay is $75/interview (inclusive of translation) for a total of $1500. It will be disbursed after the completion of the work.

Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
