Reply to myself and anyone else interested, Maybe the "easiest" way is to just disable the detrending by replacing line 255 in spm_fMRI_design with X = [X C]; those regressors that one wants to be detrended have to be detrended or mean centered before then (outside SPM). Best Helmut
