PhD position in Psychology available within the Consumer Decision and Sustainable Behavior Lab at the University of Geneva
We are seeking applications for a 3-year PhD position within the Consumer Decision and Sustainable Behavior Lab (www.unige.ch/fapse/decisionlab) at the Department of Psychology, University of Geneva (Director: Prof. Tobias Brosch). The position is embedded within the project �Cognitive, affective, and behavioral dynamics of the environmental self� funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The successful candidate will investigate cognitive and affective mechanisms underlying environmental and moral decision-making based on a multi-methodological approach.
Content: The research project aims to significantly contribute to the understanding of cognitive and affective mechanisms that shape environmental decision-making and behavior. It is envisaged to examine how environmental self-attributes are cognitively embedded within individuals� set of attributes that collectively shape their selves. This cognitive perspective will be complemented by investigating the relevance of affective processes in decision-making within and beyond the environmental domain (in particular the moral domain). The applied paradigms will be transferred into the field to increase the validity of laboratory findings. The successful candidate will apply a variety of psychological paradigms based on online, laboratory, and field settings to investigate the theoretical framework. Thereby, subjective self-reports will be combined with objective psychophysiological and behavioral data in cross-sectional and longitudinal designs.
Requirements: Applicants should have an excellent master�s degree in psychology, very good methodological and statistical skills as well as a strong interest in environmental and moral topics. Experience in conducting psychophysiological laboratory studies and/or field studies is an asset. Furthermore, applicants should be firmly dedicated to a scientific career and be willing to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Excellent oral and written skills in English are required as well as good knowledge of French (or the willingness to learn French quickly).

Salary will start at about CHF 47�000 (before taxes and social charges). Additional resources to fund conference travel are available.
