The Look Out Discovery Centre is a well-known visitor attraction situated on the outskirts of Bracknell, Berkshire. The main feature is the hands-on science and discovery exhibition, with over
90 hands-on activities which attracts over 152,000 visitors each year. The centre also has a gift shop, coffee shop and an adventure play area. The Look Out is surrounded by 1,000 hectares of Crown Estate woodland with walks, popular mountain bike trails, and
an orienteering course. Each year the centre itself attracts 400,000 visitors with an additional 250,000 visitors being recorded to the site as a whole.
With overall responsibility for the management of The Look Out Discovery Centre, car parking area and children’s adventure play area you’ll be enthusiastic and highly motivated, seeking to deliver
continued success and a quality experience for customers and staff alike. The Look Out has numerous award including; Customer Service Excellence, Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme and Learning Outside the Classroom. You will need to maintain good
working relationships with other partners and be a strategic planner, generating ideas for new streams of income.
With significant management experience in a similar leisure environment and a proven track record of achieving results and managing change, you’ll also be familiar with the principles of delivering
excellent customer care. Widespread knowledge of facility management and finance will be essential, as will experience of managing and developing people. Ideally, you’ll also have an understanding of sales and marketing techniques, health and safety, science
in education and project management.
