Dear colleagues: The abstract submission deadline of this workshop has been
extended to 30 April 2016.

Apologies for cross-posting; please forward to potentially interested
coworkers:

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the workshop Thermoelectrics riding the
waves: A voyage from fundamentals to applications, taking place on board the
Hurtigruten cruise ship on 12 - 16 September 2016. The abstract submission
deadline has been extended to 30 April 2016. Registration and abstract
submission can be performed at the website:

This international workshop aims to identify the most promising routes
towards cost-efficient thermoelectricity for waste heat recovery without the
use of scarce or toxic materials. The scope covers novel materials (oxides,
half Heuslers, others); modules and systems (metallization issues, system
performance, applications), and theory (predictions from first principles,
scattering phenomena, multiple scales).

The participants are encouraged to ask critical questions to the field, both
in their presentations and the subsequent discussions. The hope is to
identify the most promising paths towards successful implementation of
thermoelectrics and to abandon dead ends. The number of participants will be
limited to a maximum of 100, and much time will be devoted to questions and
discussions. All sessions will be plenary. We hope that this will be an
intensive and fruitful workshop, given the compact and scenic venue.

Accommodation will be in single or double cabins on board the Finnmarken
Hurtigruten cruise ship. We will travel along large parts of the spectacular
Norwegian coast line and make stops at several unique arctic towns of
Norway. The workshop is sponsored by the Research Council of Norway, which
allows very reasonable pricing of the conference, including all meals and
accommodation on board.

The following invited speakers have been confirmed:

Bo Brummerstedt Iversen, Aarhus university, Denmark

Jesús Carrete Montaña, CEA Grenoble, France

Kunihito Koumoto, Nagoya University, Japan

Mark S. Lundstrom, Purdue University, USA

Jochen Mannhart, Max Planck Institute of Solid State Research, Stuttgart,
Germany

Nini Pryds, The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark

Ivana Savic, Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland

Jeff Snyder, Northwestern University, USA

Karina Tarantik, Fraunhofer IPM, Freiburg, Germany

Wenjie Xie, University of Stuttgart, Germany
