Special session: Metaheuristics for signal and image processing

Scope:

The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of the use of metaheuristics optimization algorithms in signal and image processing problems. The application of metaheuristics to image processing has increased mainly due to the robustness of the approach. Many image analysis tasks like image registration, image classification, image segmentation, have been effectively solved using metaheuristics. Topics of interest include (but are not limited) to the application of metaheuristics to:

·       Image segmentation

·       Image registration

·       Image reconstruction 

·       Image enhancement

·       Object recognition 

·       Object tracking 

·       Image clustering 

·       Etc.
