medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

The Cambridge History of Libraries in Britain & Ireland to 1640 has on page 96 "the monastic customs of Fleury (Saint-Benoit-sur Loire) describe the librarian (armarius) as also head of the school"
on page 221 of the same armarius is defined as "keeper of the bookcase".

Can anyone suggest a translation of "ARMARIUS" ? In context it appears to be
the title of one of the Obedientaries or Office-Bearers in a Religious
House. I cannot find it in my Latin dictionaries but since the usual name
for a treasurer is Thesaurus, I was wondering if armarius might not
translate Wardrober or Sacristan ?

Any ideas or / and references appreciated.
