Have used many and found most free versions pretty frustrating for one reason or another. The ones I use or have used include: *Camtasia: * Although commercial software - There is an academic or non-commercial license which is very reasonably priced. Once you have used Camtasia, it is really hard to use anything else without some level of frustration. *Jing: * A freebie from TechSmith who make Camtasia. Brilliant if you can work within the limitations. 5mins long, Flash files and no editing. I have it on my desk all the time for quick'n'dirty software demos. *EZVid: * Used to like this, seems to work well on the PC, but nowhere near as good as Camtasia *Screencast-o-matic:* Used to use this, but found it rather frustrating. But this looks like a new version, worth looking at, thanks Matt. cheers eib ****************************** Ed I Bremner Consultant and Trainer in Digital Media BremWeb Imaging www.bremweb.co.uk [log in to unmask] 07973 335509 s: ed.bremner ****************************** sent via gmail On 20 April 2016 at 22:46, Robin Patel <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Hi Tom, > > If you are using Windows 10 there's a built in utility for screen > recording. > > Guide here: > http://betanews.com/2015/07/19/windows-10-secret-screen-recording-tool/ > > Robin > > -- > Robin Patel > Museums & Heritage Consultant (Collections & Access) > t: 01786 860 691 > m: 07815 312 562 > > [log in to unmask] > > Website: http://goo.gl/0bQRnv > Linked-In: http://goo.gl/kgCSt7 > Facebook: https://goo.gl/4KzMBk > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Museums Computer Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of > Dave Wade > Sent: 20 April 2016 15:45 > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Re: [MCG] Screen recording software > > Microsft have a screen recorder app for Window/7, and 8.1 has one built > into the X-Box app. > > Dave > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Museums Computer Group [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of > > Jones Catherine > > Sent: 20 April 2016 12:11 > > To: [log in to unmask] > > Subject: Re: Screen recording software > > > > On a Mac its possible, to use Quicktime to record the screen.
