Good luck Penny.

If I'm not gravely mistaken you were one of the first SMR folk that I ever saw. It was late summer 1989 (or it might even have been 1988!) You and I were in a waiting room in Stafford awaiting to be interviewed for the SMR assistant's post with the County Council. We didn't say anything then but I suppose that you might have been testing the water in a neighbouring county.

Anyway it was good to get to know you at all those West Midlands SMR meetings, and other regional meetings. Ah, the days when it was still OK to retire to the pub for lunch!

Best wishes, Penny. I know you will stay as busy - or possibly busier - as I am!

Subject: So Long, and thanks for all the....

Dear All,

I am retiring today, after almost 34 years looking after the Shropshire SMR, now HER. I am leaving the HER in Giles Carey’s very capable hands. I will probably join the HER Forum from my home email (Thank you Sarah for your email about this), so its not quite goodbye, but good luck to everyone. May the HER Community Live Long and Prosper!

With all best wishes,

Penny Ward
