VIENNA ON PAGE AND SCREEN SPECIAL

Viennese Suburbs: Schnitzler’s Vienna / With photos by Peter Steinsberg (Vienna)

Friday, 6 May 2016, 3 – 5.30 pm

Venue: Room 234, Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU

The new seminar series 'Vienna Tales on Page and Screen', brings together short stories by well-known literary figures and films on contemporary themes made in or set in Vienna. Based on selected stories from the book Vienna Tales, an anthology of short prose set in Vienna translated by Deborah Holmes (Oxford University Press, 2014; ISBN 978-0-19-966979-0), the seminars will provide an English introduction to the texts and give participants the opportunity to watch great film classics as well as recent Austrian releases.

Next week’s  SEMINAR SPECIAL will focus on a short text by Arthur Schnitzler, “Out for a Walk” (Spaziergang) and a PHOTO SHOW “SCHNITZLER’S VIENNA” by photographer Peter Steinsberg.

This event is the last in the series for this academic year. The series will continue in Autumn 2016.
