Job Description:
Scotland's Urban Past is a five year nationwide community project that supports communities across Scotland to actively explore the rich architectural, social and personal histories of the towns and cities where they live, work or visit, in order to understand their distinctive characters and how they have changed over time. It aims to develop at least 60 local projects to investigate, record, engage with and celebrate the heritage of Scotland’s towns and cities across the breadth of the country. Participants include local groups already interested in their heritage, young people and groups who may not yet be involved in heritage activities. These groups are trained in activities such as active survey of buildings, archival research and oral history recording. Outputs from the project include new material gathered by participants being added to the National Record of the Historic Environment, Canmore [www.canmore.gov.uk], creative projects working with artists, and local and regional events. 

This role is a fixed term post required to deliver a specific project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and there should be no expectation of permanent employment after this date.
