Salary: Grade F - £33,574 to £35,609 per annum, with progression to £37,768

The School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at Newcastle University seeks to appoint a Lecturer whose work intersects with and extends the existing political geography research expertise within the Power, Space, Politics research cluster. We welcome applicants working within political geography who have an interest in: geopolitics (including environmental, popular, and feminist approaches); military, war and security geographies; sovereignty and international boundaries; changing forms of territorial governance at local, national and international scales; citizenship (especially relating to nationalism, migration, protest and activism); geographies of peace and violence; and historical political geographies. Appointees will be expected to make a contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to undertake supervision of postgraduate students.

The School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at Newcastle University seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Human Geography whose work intersects with and extends the existing research expertise within the Geographies of Social Change and/or the Politics, Space and Power research clusters. We welcome outstanding applicants who have the ability to undertake and publish world-leading academic research, and show a commitment to innovative and research-based teaching.
 
We particularly welcome those with research and teaching interests in postcolonial development and the global south, geographies of migration, social inequalities, environmental justice, geographies of gender and sexualities. Appointees will be expected to make a contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to undertake supervision of postgraduate students.
 
The post is tenable from September 1st 2016.
