Fully-funded ESRC PhD Studentship in Human Geography at Swansea University – in collaboration with Ordnance Survey and Blurrt.
“Understanding Emotional Reactions and People’s Experiences of Public Services in Night-time Economy”
This is an exciting opportunity for social scientists to develop research at the intersections of human geography and computer science and use innovative methods to inform policies
and laws, to develop new approaches to understanding night-time economy in urban contexts.
The successful applicant will benefit from being part of an established ESRC doctoral community in Wales and Swansea-led Doctoral Training pathway in human geography with access to seminars and events across the network. The student will
be involved in the new strategic research structure, the Academy of Social Science at Swansea, which is coordinated by a Pro-Vice-Chancellor and developed in conjunction with the Research Institute for Applied Social Sciences. This PhD project also provides
invaluable opportunity for the student to learn from and compare research strategies used by the internationally-acclaimed academics involved in CHERISH-DE centre (http://cherish-de.uk), the new digital economy initiative at Swansea and one of the six world
leading multidisciplinary digital economy research centres in the UK funded by the UK Government.
