'Keeping your food safe and secure – life as an academic working at the science/policy interface'

Guy Poppy, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Food Standards Agency

From horsemeat to campylobacter, these have been interesting times in consumer trust in our food chain. One of the top academics grappling with issues in the food we eat is Professor Guy Poppy, Chief Scientific Adviser to the Food Standards Agency (FSA). UCL has invited Guy in for a chat about his role at the FSA and his thoughts on the evidence, assumptions and other considerations that shape policy decisions affecting the food we eat.
