Dear all,

Just a reminder that the application deadline for this position is the 26th of April.

Just to let you know that we have an opening for a highly motivated scientist in the Synchrotron Crystallography team
at the EMBL Grenoble Outstation. This team works in close collaboration with the ESRF Structural Biology Group
in the operation and development of high performance X-ray beamlines aimed at facilitating solution of challenging
structural biological problems. Towards this goal the EMBL-ESRF Joint Structural Biology Group develops advanced
instrumentation and data collection methods for bioSAXS. The successful candidate will be co-responsible for the
highly successful bioSAXS beamline on BM29 at the ESRF. He/She will actively participate in user support for
bioSAXS data collection and analysis, as well as future beamline developments. The candidate should have
demonstrated experience of synchrotron beamline operations and small-angle scattering techniques. He/She
should be willing to play a leading role in local and international initiatives aimed at the further development of
bioSAXS instrumentation, methods and techniques, particularly in relation to the ESRF-Extremely Brilliant Source
(EBS) project

The successful candidate should have a PhD degree and at least three years of post-doctoral experience in
small angle scattering data collection and analysis.
The candidate should have an interest in, and knowledge of,
instrumentation and the latest software development for biological small angle scattering at synchrotron sources.
A practical knowledge of macromolecular purification protocols for structural biology is also desired.
