Dear ARA member

In partnership with Dublin-based DHR Communications, ARA will be running a series of half-day training sessions on how to champion your work with the aim of improving your internal advocacy, communications and influencing. The training is part funded from ARA's annual grant from the UK National Archives (with our grateful thanks) and partly from ARA's own funds.

Each half-day workshop aims to:
* Help you to be strategic in your internal advocacy and communications; and match organisational priorities.
* Help you to understand what makes a good story/issue for press office colleagues.
* Improve your ability to persuade colleagues and make your case simply.
* Help you to identify allies and stakeholders in archives and records management in the organisation and where you can develop mutually-beneficial collaboration.
* Equip you to understand and develop communications techniques.

The training (details attached) will take place in:

There will be two sessions in each city, morning and afternoon, with the morning sessions aimed at archivists and the afternoon at records managers. However, there will be significant overlap in content and benefit, so both sessions are open to all ARA members without distinction.
