Dear Zooarchers,

I have a number of bones from a sea turtle flipper that have acquired a bit of mould. Any recommendations for the best way to treat this, minimizing long-term impact on the bone itself? I'd prefer to take a conservative approach, followed by more aggressive methods later if needed.

Many thanks,
Christina
