Assuming this is the recently published book on the mining in the mendip area - (a little confused as Mikes email refers to reprint and it is certainly not that)….. then I have the odd claim to fame of having purchased the first sold copy (i.e excluding complimentary ones). This was only because I happened to be on a surveying trip to Winford Redding Ochre mines with Alan Gray the day after he collected them.

It is truly an excellent pair of books. If you are familiar with the latest Mendip underground and Earth Colours you will know the quality of the publication as it is in a similar format.
The content however is much more thorough in terms of being academically sourced and has more scientific text book stye material. This is as stated by Mike "a result of a lifetimes research by Peter”

I am intending to do a review for the next SGMRG Newsletter so would be happy to forward that if anyone is interested (but haven’t finished working through it yet!)

I can forward a copy of another review I have seen if you want that

Regards

David
