Join CILIP Thames Valley on a tour of Eton College Library! Eton College was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI. Eton is a boys’ boarding school and one of the leading independent schools in the UK. Eton College Library was established soon after the foundation of the college and is a rare book and manuscript library of international importance. The Library has more than 150,000 items ranging from the 10th to 21st centuries, including printed and manuscript volumes, literary manuscripts, autograph letters, prints and drawings.

The tour will include an overview of the history of the library, an opportunity to view items from the collection and a chance to see their new special exhibition on Shakespeare.

Everyone is welcome to attend this tour. Booking for this event is essential.
