The following full time, permanent post is available within Library Services at the University of Birmingham: Subject Advisor

 

Starting salary is normally in the range £28,982 to £37,768. With potential progression once in post to £40,082 a year.

 

The post holder will be an information specialist, who has a key role to play in learning and research support at the University of Birmingham. They will contribute to the development of academic library services and collections ensuring both print and electronic resources meet the needs of the academy. They will be responsible for delivering information literacy and researcher support programmes, and developing printed and web-based learning materials. They will provide the first line of advice and advocacy to academic colleagues in the university’s budget centres about a wide range of services provided by Library Services.

 

Subject Advisors are required to show strong capabilities in the areas of organisational understanding, communication and resource management.
