Subject: The American Statistical Association and p values
 
Hi everyone,

Yesterday, the American Statistical Association took the unprecedented step of releasing a consensus statement on the use of p values. I have written a commentary here:

Particularly important are the six principles, which I outline in my Psychonomics commentary, and the supplemental information on the statement, which contains 21 commentaries from experts. 

Please let me know if you would like to set up a time to discuss this important development; the statisticians finally weighing in is likely to change what journals are willing to require and what they are not.
