Hi Fiona,

A dictionary can be used if it is normal way of working but the student can't have extra time for using it.

Many Thanks
Rachel

So, am I right to think that for GCE quals the international learners aren't entitled to a dictionary or extra time?

Thanks

Hi Fiona

see below regarding 25% et with use of TD ie no longer available for GCE students.

We had loads of students with TDs on the corner of their desks which were never used but the students had 25% et - we've not had many asking for just the TDs.

Hi Fiona,

Are you applying for 25% extra time to use dictionaries etc?

If so, JCQ have changed the rules and students using bilingual dictionaries are no longer entitled to extra time purely for use of the dictionaries. As a college with about 100 international students, this has obviously affected quite a few of ours.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Has anyone applied for extra time for their international students for GCE, and if so, how have you done it? I have been looking on the JCQ Access Arrangements online but can't fathom out how to apply for theirs.

Thanks
