Graduate Trainee – Archive & Special Collections Assistant x3

Salary: Grade 3, £16,017 - £18,212 per annum

 

Three full-time traineeships are available, to participate in the provision of services, for graduates looking for experience before applying for a postgraduate course and establishing a career in archives and/or special collections.

 

The traineeships are fixed-term for 1 year: 1st August 2016 – 31st July 2017.

 

In 2015/16, two trainees were based full-time at Archive Services and one trainee worked part-time at Special Collections and part-time at the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Archive. Archives and Special Collections are in the process of merging – 2016/17 roles for these post-holders will be defined by the start date, but will be broadly the same as before.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting searchroom visitors, answering enquiries, producing items from the repository, contributing to the long-term preservation of the archival collections and box-listing archives.
