The George Kaiser Family Foundation and the University of Tulsa announced
Wednesday that they had acquired the Bob Dylan Archives — more than 6,000
pieces of material going back 60 years. That a bulk of that collection even
existed had been a mystery until Wednesday morning.

Showing a few of those handwritten manuscripts, some written on hotel
stationary with stains and cigarette burns, Michael Chaiken, the
collection’s curator, said the vast, expansive collection is a treasure
trove. About 1,000 items are already in Tulsa, but much more is to be
revealed.

“This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg,” Chaiken said.
