At the risk of hearing shouting from the rooftops, can anyone advise on the effects of persons with gel nails handling archive material?

Thus far, project volunteers have been wearing gloves to protect material from the gel nails, however unlike regular nail polish, there is no colour transfer when testing by rubbing the nail against a scrap of card .  Also, due to the nature of the gel, it doesn’t flake off.
