A French investigation has uncovered new information about a letter flown out of Paris via hot air balloon during the Prussian siege in 1870 which is now in the National Archives of Australia.
The letter, from a man named A Mesnier to his mother in Normandy, described the harsh conditions in Paris during the siege.
