TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The National Archives Administration (檔管) on Monday said that it was happy to purchase historic government records from private persons.

Lin Chiu-yen (林秋燕), deputy director of the archives administration at the National Development Council (NDC, 國發會), said that there were laws encouraging private persons to take government records to the state archives.

Her remarks came amid a controversial military probe on a man accused of selling historic government records on an Internet auction.
