Re-interpreting an Enlightenment collection Maria Economou, Curator and Lecturer in Museum Studies, School of Humanities & Hunterian Museum, University of Glasgow Maria Economou will outline the digital strategy of The Hunterian, Scotland’s oldest public museum, and contextualise the factors influencing the shaping of the strategy as well as the use of digital in the organisation as a whole. She will also discuss how the digital strategy supports learning using the case study of the digital trail designed for The Hunterian’s Kangaroo & the Moose exhibition on George Stubb’s paintings, as part of the Travellers’ Tails collaborative project co-ordinated by the Royal Maritime Museums Greenwich. 12:30 Engaging with collections and communities through www.johngraycentre.org<http://www.johngraycentre.org/> Kate Maynard, Team Manager, Museums, East Lothian Council The John Gray Centre is a heritage hub in East Lothian’s county town of Haddington. It is home to a Library, Museum, Archive and Local History Centre and has an innovative website.
